SOUNDS FAMILIAR?
You've shown it three times. They're still lost.
You're standing in front of your class, demonstrating a movement you could do in your sleep. You show it once. Then slower. You explain what your body is doing.
They're still looking at you.
You can see the frustration on one student's face. Someone in the back has stopped trying. Everyone else is waiting to see what you'll do next.
Show it again? Move on and hope it lands? Stay with one student while the rest of the room stands around?
Every teacher hits this moment, whether it's their first class or their five-hundredth. A student who doesn't respond to your usual explanation. A room with three different levels in it. The energy dropping halfway through, even when you're teaching something good.
Showing what works for your body is where teaching starts. The real work is turning what you know into something their body can understand.
That’s what we’ll work on together.
WHAT YOU'LL DISCOVER
The lessons I wish someone had shared with me before my first class
Why the first place to look
when a student can't get a movement is usually far from where the problem shows up
01
How to spot the difference between a student who has learned a movement and one who actually feels it
02
How to notice when a student is starting to disconnect and what to do before you lose them
03
How to make a movement click when a fourth demonstration isn't working (visual imagery can sometimes help)
04
What students are really asking when they want to skip straight to the “cool” or “pretty” part, and how to answer without losing them
05
How to teach a room with mixed levels without boring your advanced dancers or leaving your beginners behind
06
How to give feedback that makes your students want to try again
07
What to do when your explanation isn't working and the whole class is watching you
08
THE LIVE TEACHING LAB
Then it's your turn to teach
Knowing what makes a good explanation is one skill.
Giving one in front of a group, with everyone looking at you, is another.
In the Live Teaching Lab you'll have the opportunity to step in front of the group, practice teaching a short section, and receive my feedback in real time. Everyone who wants to practice gets about 5 minutes to teach a movement and get my feedback. It's optional, but highly recommended.
I'LL BE PAYING ATTENTION TO
Your explanations
Does the room understand what you mean?
Your demonstrations
Can people learn from the way you show it?
Your corrections
What do you say to someone who isn't getting it?
Your cues
Are students getting the right information at the right moment?
Your presence
How you hold the room and lead the group.
I'm not there to critique your dancing.
I'm there to coach your teaching.
Don't worry about being perfect. This is a space to experiment,
learn, and improve. That's why we're practicing.
WHY I CREATED THIS INTENSIVE
Did they actually get it?
That's the question in my head every time I teach. In my own classes, in festival rooms with up to 2,500 dancers, and in private lessons with just one student in front of me.
I want people to leave my class feeling good about themselves, with something that finally clicked.
I figured it out class after class. Sometimes my first explanation worked right away. Sometimes I'd look at the room and think, okay... that did not work 😅 So I'd try another way, and then another one.
Honestly, nobody taught me how to make that happen.
I've never put all of this into one training before. This is the first time, and I wanted to do it in person with a small group, so I can actually watch you teach and help you right there.
I'd love to share with you what took me so many years to learn.
A LITTLE ABOUT ME

IS THIS FOR YOU?
For leads and follows who
dance bachata well and
want to teach it better
✓ You're thinking about teaching
You want to share what you know, but you're not sure how to turn your dancing into a class other people can follow.
✓ You've started teaching or assisting
You're finding out that demonstrating a movement is one thing. Explaining it, correcting it and adapting it to different students is something else.
✓ You already teach
You have classes behind you and want fresh eyes on how you communicate, plus new ways to handle the moments that still trip you up.
This one isn't for you yet if you're still working on your timing and basic footwork.
And if you're mainly looking for new combinations to add to your classes, my regular workshops will serve you better. This afternoon is all about how you teach.
One afternoon for the way you teach

Got questions? I've got answers 😉
If you're not sure this intensive is right for you, let me clear a few things up.
Is this for new or experienced instructors?
Both. Maybe you're getting ready for your very first class. Maybe you've been teaching for years and still have moments where you think, “okay, how do I explain this?” Either way, you'll have plenty to work on.
Do I need to know how to dance bachata?
Yes, please! You should already be comfortable with your timing, basic footwork and fundamentals, because we'll spend the whole afternoon on how you teach. You don't need any teaching experience.
Is this only for follows?
Not at all. Leads are welcome too.
Will I practice teaching?
Yes, if you want to! Everyone who wants to practice in the Live Teaching Lab gets about 5 minutes to teach a movement and get my feedback in real time. It's optional, but highly recommended.
What if I'm nervous about teaching in front of everyone?
That's okay, really. You don't have to show up knowing exactly what to say. We're there to practice together, and nobody is expecting perfect.
Will I receive a teaching certification?
No, this is a hands-on training. You can absolutely say you attended a teacher training with me. It doesn't make you a certified instructor or mean I officially endorse your teaching.
When and where is it?
Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 12:00 to 4:30 PM at Dance Factory, 334 Westshore Plaza, #10, Tampa, FL 33609. We'll have 4.5 hours together.
What should I bring?
I'll email you everything before the intensive, including what to wear and bring. Nothing complicated, I promise. (And please leave the running sneakers at home 😉)
How much is the intensive?
Registration is $250, and there are only 20 spots.
Do I need a discount code?
No. Click “Reserve My Spot” and complete checkout. The price is $250.
What happens if I register but can't attend?
All payments are non-refundable. But if something comes up and you can't make it, you'll still get access to the recording for 30 days, and you can email me your questions.
Will there be a recording?
Yes! Everyone who registers gets access to the recording for 30 days.
Can't wait to meet you!
SEE YOU IN TAMPA
You already know what it feels like when a movement finally clicks for you.
Being the teacher who makes that happen for someone else is a different kind of joy. It's the one that has kept me teaching all these years.
That's what I want to work on with you.
See you in Tampa!
